Pre-Purchase Marine Survey

A pre-purchase marine survey is a thorough and comprehensive inspection of the vessel and a SAMS or NAMS accredited marine surveyor is most always required by financial and insurance firms when you are buying a new or used boat. This type survey covers condition and valuation as well as overall operation of the vessel and its systems. The vessel is examined in and out of the water for structural integrity. The electrical systems, propulsion systems and electronics are inspected and an assessment about general maintenance and cosmetic appearance is made. A limited sea trial is included. This is the most comprehensive and in-depth type of inspection, and is highly recommended when purchasing a new or used yacht. This same report can be used for lending or insurance agencies.

pre-purchase survey The purpose of the survey is to provide an overview of the yacht's condition, value, and suitability for the intended use. Emphasis is placed with regard to structural features; determining the seriousness of existing problems and suggested repairs. A moisture meter is used to determine if there is excessive moisture in fiberglass hulls or rot present in wooden hulls.

Engines are assessed based on external visible inspection. Oil analysis is available by request. If necessary, a more detailed assessment should be provided by a qualified engine surveyor.

Steve Snider has a 100 Ton U.S.C.G. Captain's License and is experienced in deliveries from all of East Coast U.S.to all of Florida including the Florida Keys.
